Terms

What you are booking, what it costs, and what happens if plans change. Short, because a term you would not read is a term you did not agree to.

Who you are dealing with

Detail Lane Inc., 2492 St Clair Ave W, Toronto. HST registration 765140660 RT0001. Booking on this site is an agreement with that company.

What you are buying

A defined list of work, inside a defined amount of time. Not a result. Every service page lists exactly what is included and what is not, and that list is the agreement. If something is not on it, it is not part of what you booked.

We say this plainly because “clean” is a matter of opinion and a list is not. It is also what lets us publish a price instead of quoting one at the counter.

On Gloss Enhancement specifically

This is a shine and protection service, not paint correction. Existing scratches, swirls and etching will still be present afterward.

Condition, and why it changes the price

Some vehicles need more time than the standard booking allows. When that is true you are asked about it before you pay, and the extra time is priced openly.

This is a fact about the schedule, not a judgement about your car. A vehicle that needs an extra 45 minutes is charged for 45 minutes, because that time belongs to the customer booked behind you.

Prices, tax and the deposit

Published prices exclude HST, which is added at 13%. The full breakdown — subtotal, HST, total, deposit and balance — is shown before you pay and again in your confirmation email.

A $50.00 deposit is taken at booking and comes off your total. The balance is due when you collect the vehicle.

Card details are handled entirely by Square. We never receive or store your card number.

Changing or cancelling

More than 24 hours before

Move it or cancel it yourself, free, using the link in your confirmation email. A cancellation refunds the deposit in full. A change costs nothing and the deposit carries over.

Inside 24 hours

The deposit is not refundable. The slot was held for you and is very unlikely to be filled at that notice. Call us anyway — things happen, and we would rather hear from you than not.

Not turning up

The deposit is forfeited. That is what a deposit is for.

If we have to cancel

You get the deposit back in full, and first choice of a replacement time.

On the day

Arriving late

We can hold your slot for 15 minutes. Beyond that we may shorten the service to what fits, rebook you, or treat it as a no-show — a long job that starts late runs into the booking behind it.

Waiting or dropping off

Either is fine, and you tell us which when you book.

Belongings

Please take valuables with you. We are not responsible for items left in the vehicle. Anything found is kept for you.

Condition on arrival

We photograph the vehicle when it arrives. That record is how we can both tell existing damage from anything that happened here.

If the car needs more than you booked

You get a phone call before we touch it — what we found, what it would cost, and how much longer it would take. You approve or decline.

Nothing is added to your bill without you saying yes first, and declining is a normal answer. We finish what you booked either way.

Our promise

Every job is a written list. You see exactly what is included before you pay, and that list is what we work to.

It covers the list you booked. It is not a route to work that was never part of the service — if paint correction was excluded, swirls remaining afterwards is the service working as described, not a miss.

Work we may decline

Occasionally we cannot take a job: biohazards, infestation, a vehicle that is not safe to move or work around, or damage so extensive that cleaning would make it worse. If we decline before starting, the deposit is refunded in full.

Changes to these terms

These terms apply as they read on the day you book, and a later change does not alter a booking already made. The date at the top shows the current version.
